Booking a Session
Yay, you've decided to book! So how do you secure your date? You pay for your session. This is the "session fee" and it's a retainer for our services, meaning it's paid at the time you first contact us in order to save your date. We cannot hold a spot until this payment is received. This is to ensure that you're as committed to your shoot as we are, since we will be turning away other work to hold your spot open for you and will be scheduling assistant(s) to help with your shoot! :) So how do you pay it? We will email you a secure payment link (usually through square) where you can pay your session fee / retainer online.
Wait, so what does this fee cover? This fee reserves our time & expertise from start to finish. It includes the time we set aside for your session, your pre-session consultation, and your ordering appointment. It is not a deposit toward prints or digital files; these may be purchased later during your ordering appointment.
This is where we first meet! Once your session fee/retainer has been received, we'll schedule a time to meet up before the session to customize the experience. We will talk about your likes and dislikes, look at pictures you love or hate, talk about wardrobe and location, and anything else that may be on your mind. We'll also talk a little more about our studio policies, and sign a basic contract. For mini sessions, we'll do the consultation over the phone or through email correspondence.
On the day of the shoot, we will either meet up at the studio or at our chosen location. We may have one or more assistants with us, depending on our plans for your shoot. We aim to keep things relaxed and fun, but always professional! Depending on the client, this may mean keeping a quick pace to keep things fun and exciting, or taking our time to ease into the perfect poses & expressions. We will take as much time as we need to get the perfect lighting & shot (we know how important that is to you!) but that we also won't make it drag out until you feel uncomfortable or "cheesy" in front of the camera (that's a big one for guys!). We are skilled at photographing a huge variety of shapes and sizes, so if there is ANYTHING you are self-conscious about, just tell us, and we've got you covered! You will look AMAZING in your photos, promise! :)
Who Should Come to the Session
We've found we get much better results when the person being photographed can focus on interacting with us on a more one-on-one basis, and you want the best pictures possible! :)
The Ordering Appointment
This is the fun part - when you get to choose what photos you want to buy and place your order!! The ordering appointment takes place a few weeks after your session. This will be the time for you to view all your amazing images and to place your order. All of our collections offer a mixture of beautiful printed artwork and digital images, so you get the best of both worlds. We have tried it all and pride ourselves in offering only items we truly believe in to our clients - including gorgeous, heirloom-quality photographic albums and fine art prints, premium quality prints for the walls, and both luxury and economy canvas options - all which will truly do your images justice. We can't wait for you to see what we offer!
Picking Up Your Orders
Depending on what your order, it will be ready for pickup anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 weeks, depending on the item and the production process. Items which are handmade, for example, like some of our albums, may take a little longer - but the quality and attention to detail are worth the wait. We will give you an approximate turnaround time when you order. When everything is in and packaged for you, we'll contact you and arrange a time for you to pick them up.
